Khamzat Offers Strickland One Lemon to Fight Anywhere as Court McGee Walks Away

Chimaev wants a Strickland fight inside or outside the cage, while McGee confirmed his 29th fight in the UFC system was his last.

Court McGee

The biggest post of the day was a goodbye. McGee wrote on X that Saturday night was his final UFC fight, closing out 16 years and 29 fights if you count his run in the Ultimate Fighter house. He lost, and he didn’t dress it up. He said he was proud of how he performed and happy for the guy who beat him, then delivered the line every fighter should get tattooed somewhere: “okay is good enough for me.”

He also mentioned the 13 coaches and training partners he’s lost along the way, which is a gut punch of a number. McGee wrote that this was the first time he slowed down enough to soak in the whole thing, from the weeks before the fight to the walk to the Octagon. Plenty of veterans limp out bitter. McGee leaves grateful, and he signed off by thanking everyone who came along for the ride.

Khamzat Chimaev

Now for the lemon. Chimaev posted on X: “Striciland I will pay you 1 🍋” and followed it with “Send me location and let’s fight don’t care outside inside the cage.” The spelling is his, the fruit emoji is his, and the offer to fight in a parking lot is very much his.

I’ll leave it to you whether that lemon stands for a number with a lot of zeros or just the citrus. Either way, I love it. A guy offering cash plus a GPS pin to fight Strickland anywhere on Earth beats 90% of the scripted callouts we get at pressers. Strickland has never exactly been shy online, so the ball’s in his court.

Nassourdine Imavov

Imavov fired off a post quoting someone else’s claim that a certain opponent isn’t scared of him because he already beat him, and slapped a clown emoji on it. Then he laid out his case. He pointed out the old loss came four years ago, up a weight class, when he had nothing to lose, and said he’s a different fighter today and the other guy knows it. He closed by calling the whole thing easy money, in all caps.

Imavov didn’t tag anyone, so I won’t fill in the name for him. The post reads like a guy who has been hearing about one specific loss for years and is sick of it. Calling a rematch easy money is a bold way to set the bar, and he’d better clear it.

Gaston Reyno

Reyno posted in Spanish that Argentines can now get their hopes up about the UFC too, with a trophy emoji and an Argentine flag. He attached a link without much else, so that’s as far as I’ll take it. The energy is pure hometown hype.

Renato Moicano

Moicano quote-tweeted a wild post from @concatenarsim. According to that account, Paulo Nogueira lost to Héctor Santiago at MMMA1 (Santiago later signed with the UFC), then left Rio de Janeiro to fight as a mercenary on the Ukrainian side, documenting it on Instagram. That’s that account’s claim, not mine. Moicano’s whole reaction was basically disbelief, capped with “Doidera meu padrin.” Translation for the non-Portuguese crowd: that’s insane, my guy. Hard to argue with him.

NOEL

RIZIN’s NOEL jumped in to defend @sara_rizin, who had praised a high-school-age competitor for giving up after-school snacks and hangouts to cut weight and train hard, then said she didn’t get why people were bashing. NOEL said the people griping at Sara were gross, then roasted herself, saying she was shocked the comments were as boring as her own fights. Self-own of the week. She signed off with “みんな一緒に成長しようね👶🏻,” basically telling everyone to grow up together, baby emoji included.

Muhammad Mokaev

Mokaev kept it short: “6 years in a row!” and “40 MMA fights winning streak.” No context beyond the link, but the man clearly wants you to know the number is 40. Expect him to keep posting it until somebody snaps it.
