Most Valuable Promotions has its full lineup set for MVPW07, the all-women card airing live on ESPN this Sunday, Nov. 8. Alycia Baumgardner faces Elif Turhan, Skye Nicolson takes on Miyo Yoshida, Ramla Ali returns to the ring against Mikiah Kreps in the co-main event, and Irma Garcia meets Nataly Delgado. MVP rolled out the matchups in a string of posts on X Thursday morning. Prelims start at 5:15 p.m. ET and the main card follows at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The promotion’s own caption for Baumgardner vs. Turhan was “words were said,” and Baumgardner backed that up this week. Most of the words, though, were pointed at somebody who isn’t on the card. Speaking with Ariel Helwani, she went after Caroline Dubois: “Caroline obviously has no backbone, so she has to call me out in order to get some type of recognition.” She also said she’s “actually fighting a girl you didn’t want to fight,” which is a nice bit of trash talk that doubles as a compliment to her actual opponent. Baumgardner told Helwani there are discussions about matching the Baumgardner vs. Elif Nur Turhan winner with the winner of Dubois vs. Stephanie Han. So there’s a real fight on the other side of Sunday, provided she takes care of the one in front of her.
Nicolson arrives by an odd route. She told Helwani that Matchroom offered to transfer her contract to MVP as part of an alliance between the two companies, and that she’d still be backed and promoted by Matchroom while gaining a path to unify the division. “I definitely didn’t see me working with MVP on my bingo card for 2026,” she said. She also said she and MVP’s Nakisa Bidarian squashed their beef and shook hands after being vocal about their differences. In case anybody worried about her loyalties, she made those clear too: “I’m Matchroom for life.”

She’s still sore about Amanda Serrano, who picked another Australian southpaw named Skye for her retirement fight. “I don’t want to say I’m pissed. I would say I’m disappointed,” Nicolson told Helwani. She argued Serrano’s team weighed the risk against the reward and passed, then closed the subject with “The ship’s sailed.” MiddleEasy reported that Nicolson has laid out conditional 2027 plans involving Brown, Scotney and Serrano, along with targets for fights in Australia, with Yoshida as her immediate assignment.

Ali’s return against Kreps gets the co-main slot, and Garcia vs. Delgado got billed by MVP as an “Incoming banger,” which is promoter language I’ll take at face value until Sunday proves otherwise.
My take: the two names doing the most talking this week are both talking about fights that aren’t happening Sunday. Baumgardner is already sizing up Dubois. Nicolson has a 2027 wish list and a Serrano grudge. I’ve lost enough money on favorites who treated the opponent in front of them as a formality to get twitchy when the post-fight plans come out before the walkouts. If Turhan or Yoshida has a live path, it runs through that distraction, and I’ll be watching Round 1 of both fights for any sign somebody showed up thinking about next year.
