Somebody at a Donald Trump rally decided the most pressing issue in America was Charles Oliveira’s spot in the lightweight pecking order, and they said so out loud.
The clip started making the rounds on X on Tuesday. Happy Punch posted it with the caption that a protester interrupted Trump to yell “give Charles Oliveira a title shot,” and Spinnin Backfist shared the same moment about an hour later. Neither account identified the person, the location of the rally or how the crowd reacted beyond the obvious. Fight fans did the rest, and by Tuesday afternoon the video was everywhere combat sports people waste time online.
You have to respect the commitment. Rallies are loud, security is tight, and this person used their one shot at a microphone moment to lobby for a Brazilian submission artist.

Where Oliveira actually stands
The timing is funny because Oliveira does have a belt fight coming up. It just isn’t the one the rally guy wants.
Oliveira headlines UFC 335 on Dec. 12 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, defending the BMF title against Diego Lopes. The UFC dropped the official poster Monday. It’s the final numbered event of 2026, and the co-main is a five-round heavyweight fight between Sergei Pavlovich and Alex Pereira, which is the kind of booking that makes me want to hug a matchmaker.
Oliveira won the BMF strap at UFC 326 with a decision over Max Holloway. It was dominant, but it was also grappling-heavy, and a lot of people thought a guy taking Holloway down over and over didn’t fit the spirit of a belt invented for guys who stand in the pocket and swing. Oliveira is the fourth man to hold it. Holloway is still the only one to successfully defend it, which puts some pressure on Oliveira’s first attempt.

Lopes is no soft touch. He’s coming off a knockout of Steve Garcia at UFC White House, he’s challenged for the featherweight title twice, and this will be his lightweight debut.
Hooker isn’t a fan of the belt anymore
Not everyone loved how Oliveira won it. Dan Hooker, who fights Brian Ortega at UFC Qatar on Nov. 21, told Submission Radio that Oliveira took some of the shine off the BMF title with that performance against Holloway.
“It was cool for a bit and then he kind of made it not cool,” Hooker said. “I think he killed it.”
Hooker still likes Oliveira vs. Lopes as a fight, for what it’s worth. He even floated a scenario where he beats Ortega, Lopes upsets Oliveira, and Hooker gets the next crack. He also admitted Lopes beating Oliveira is a big ask.

The Oliveira love is spreading in odd places, too. Renato Moicano, talking with Ariel Helwani about Tom Nolan calling him a hero, put it bluntly: “I’m not Charles Oliveira, I’m not Khabib. Let’s be honest, I’m a journeyman.”
The take
The rally guy is half right. Oliveira is a big enough draw to headline a December pay-per-view in Vegas, and he’s still fighting for a symbolic belt with a decision over Holloway as his calling card. If he runs through a 155-pound debutant, the argument for putting him back in real title contention gets louder than one person at a political rally. Lopes gets the first vote on Dec. 12.
