“HANEY. PARO. WELTERWEIGHT UNIFICATION.” Top Rank wrote on X Thursday afternoon, then added, “The collision course is set. LIVE on @DAZNBoxing.” The post tagged the date as December 19 and the venue as Chase Center in San Francisco, which settles where Devin Haney goes next and who’s standing across from him.
Five minutes later the promotion filled in the support slot. “The King of the South @OfficialBNorman takes on Abel Ramos in our @ChaseCenter co-main event,” Top Rank wrote, so Brian Norman Jr. and Ramos get the fight right before Haney and Liam Paro walk out. Top Rank labeled it “CHIEF SUPPORT IN SF,” which is promoter-speak for asking you to stay in your seat once the undercard wraps.
MMA Junkie and Yahoo both picked up the news within two hours, running it as Haney’s next bout being confirmed while the December schedule fills up. That framing matters more than it sounds. A crowded month means fights compete for the same eyeballs and the same betting handle, and a Saturday-before-Christmas card in a big arena has to give casual fans a reason to pick it over whatever else is on that weekend. A unification billing is the reason Top Rank is selling.

Now for what the posts leave out. Top Rank didn’t list records, rankings, or which belts are on the line in either fight, and I’m not going to invent a résumé the promoter didn’t print. The “unification” tag tells you both men walk in holding something at welterweight. Past that, you’ll want the official fight announcement before anyone starts quoting title lineage at you at the bar.

Same goes for the money side. No opening line appeared in anything released Thursday, and I’ve lost enough on early-November gut feelings to know better than to guess one. When a number does post, the first thing I’ll check is which way it moves in the first 48 hours, because that tells you whether the sharp money thinks the house got the price right on Haney or on Paro.
What’s concrete: two fights at the top of a Top Rank card, one streaming home in DAZN, one building in San Francisco, and a date of December 19. The rest of the card, plus whatever the books hang on Haney vs. Paro, is the next shoe to drop.
