Conor McGregor Debuts on TikTok Holding a Baby Goat and Hits 100K in Six Hours

The goat is named Goatiana, McGregor calls her his little sister, and he's still sidelined by the ACL tear from his 69-second loss to Max Holloway.

Conor McGregor is on TikTok now, and he brought a goat.

The former two-division UFC champion launched his account Monday with a short clip of himself holding a baby goat he introduced as his little sister, Goatiana. The video spread fast. Clips circulated on X through accounts like Happy Punch and Championship Rounds, and MMA account Dovy reported McGregor had passed 100,000 followers on the new page within six hours.

The script was pure McGregor. “What’s up, folks? It’s Mac here with a mega announcement,” he said, according to Bloody Elbow. “I’m here with my little sister, Goatiana. We’re letting you guys know we’re on TikTok, baby!”

Then he got to the line everybody is quoting. “Goats recognize goats. Drop us a follow, a like, a comment, and let us know what you guys think.” He closed with “Ain’t that right, Goatiana? Buss down, Goatiana!”

As mega announcements go, it’s not a signed bout agreement. But McGregor, 38, has always treated social media like a second job. He already has more than 57 million followers across X and Instagram, and he’s known for long rants and the voice notes he loves to drop on X. TikTok was the obvious gap.

The knee, the contract, and the gloves coming off

The timing makes sense, because he isn’t doing much else right now. McGregor ended a five-year absence from MMA at UFC 329 in July, and it went about as badly as possible. He tore his ACL in the opening moments against Max Holloway and lost by TKO in 69 seconds.

That injury means a long rehab. Bloody Elbow reports he’s expected to be out until 2027, with the hope being a return sometime in the second half of next year. He’s also apparently still giving plenty of samples while he heals. Bloody Elbow reported he remains the UFC’s most drug tested fighter of 2026, with almost double the total of whoever is in second place.

McGregor has one fight left on his UFC contract. He plans to finish it before testing free agency, and he’s already said he wants to try bare-knuckle boxing once the UFC deal is done. BKFC President Dave Feldman told Bloody Elbow he has a timeline in mind.

“I think we will see, in 15 months or so from now, Conor McGregor fighting inside the squared circle without the gloves on,” Feldman said.

Bloody Elbow noted it’s too early to talk about comeback opponents for the final UFC fight.

Quick take

I’ll give him this much. Six figures in six hours with a goat and a nine-second script is a better return on investment than the Holloway fight was. The question I’d actually like answered is who’s across the cage for that last UFC date in the back half of 2027, and on a reconstructed knee, the answer to that matters a lot more than Goatiana’s follower count. Until somebody books it, the most active part of McGregor’s career is his thumbs.
