Belal Muhammad Crowns Ignacio Bahamondes' 18-Year-Old Brother After One-Minute KO

Alberth Bahamondes needed about 60 seconds to flatten former Contender Series fighter Joey Hart in his LFA debut, and he's now 8-1 with a finish in every win.

Alberth Bahamondes needed roughly a minute to turn his LFA debut into a highlight clip. The 18-year-old welterweight, younger brother of UFC contender Ignacio Bahamondes, dropped Joey Hart with a clean combination on the feet Friday night and finished him with ground-and-pound in Round 1. The win moves him to 8-1 as a pro.

MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin broke down the sequence. Both men were happy to stand and trade early, and Hart landed an overhand right that got Bahamondes’ attention. The teenager kept stepping into the pocket anyway, timed a combination capped by an overhand right of his own, and put Hart on the canvas. A few more shots on the ground and the referee hustled in to wave it off.

Belal Muhammad, the former UFC welterweight champion who trains with Bahamondes, didn’t wait long to chime in. “Most dangerous teenager in the world,” he wrote on X.

How He Got Here

Ignacio fights under the nickname La Jaula, and the kid brother goes by La Jaulita. So far he’s living up to the family brand. According to Bloody Elbow, Alberth opened his career 5-0 with five straight finishes, the last of which won him a title under the Empire MMA banner. His only loss came in January 2025, a split decision in Fusion Fighting Championship.

He responded with first-round wins in September 2025 and April 2026, then took the LFA booking against Hart, whom Bloody Elbow described as a once highly touted former Dana White’s Contender Series fighter. That makes three straight, and MMA Fighting noted that every one of his eight wins has come by finish.

The opponent is what had people talking. One fan comment Bloody Elbow pulled summed it up: “Alberth Bahamondes always looked good, but it was a question of the opponents he was facing… He just eliminated all those questions like he did Joey Hart.”

No next fight has been announced. Martin wrote that Bahamondes may not be far from joining his brother in the UFC, and Bloody Elbow suggested Friday’s result could get him on Dana White’s radar.

Sal’s Take

The number I care about is eight finishes in eight wins, and the one blemish is a split decision, which means a judge somewhere actually thought he won it. That’s a clean résumé for anybody, never mind a guy who can’t legally buy a beer in the States. What I liked most was the part that won’t make the highlight reel: he ate Hart’s overhand right and kept coming forward instead of shelling up, which tells you more about an 18-year-old than the knockout does. My warning is for later. The first time Bahamondes shows up with a betting line attached, that one-minute clip is going to get baked into the price, and teenagers with one notable opponent on their record are exactly the guys I’ve overpaid for before. I’ll want to see him handle someone who survives the first two minutes before I lay real chalk on him.
