Amanda Serrano Calls Her Final Fight, and Jake Paul Already Has Her Ranked No. 1

Serrano will face Skye Falzon on January 9, 2027, at Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, live on DAZN, and she says it's the last walk of her career.

Amanda Serrano

The biggest name in the timeline made the biggest move. Serrano announced on X that her fight with Skye Falzon on Saturday, January 9, 2027, at Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan will be the final bout of her professional career, writing “One last fight. One last walk.” and adding that she “couldn’t imagine a more meaningful place to say goodbye than in front of my people, on my island.” The card streams live on DAZN under the hashtag #TheLastWalk. She also made sure nobody mistook a farewell for a fade-out: “I’m not done just yet. We have one more night of history to make together.” Retiring at home in front of a sold-out Puerto Rican crowd is about as good as a send-off gets in this business, and Falzon now gets to be the person standing across from a legend on the loudest night of her life.

Jake Paul

Within hours, Serrano’s promoter posted his top three female boxers of the last five years, and he wasn’t subtle about whose names made it. His list: “Amanda Serrano (1 last fight)”, “Katie Taylor (retired)” and “Chantelle Cameron (many left),” followed by “Proud to have promoted all 3…” Is it a little funny that a promoter’s all-time ranking happens to be a list of his own fighters? Sure. But he isn’t wrong about Serrano and Taylor, and the parenthetical notes are doing real work here, quietly confirming Taylor is done and pointing fans toward Cameron as the next one to watch.

Sean Strickland

Strickland had the most engaged post of the day, and it had nothing to do with fighting. The former middleweight champ said on X that he has friends in the Hells Angels and the Mongols, then went after biker clubs for ganging up 30-deep on one guy riding a sports bike, roasting the members’ financed baggers and their 20 percent interest rates. He wrapped the whole thing in repeated homophobic slurs, which we’re not reprinting. The interest-rate jab is a genuinely funny observation buried under language that will get the attention instead.

Muhammad Mokaev

An account posted estimated UFC 333 fighter salaries showing Alexander Volkanovski at the top with a reported $1.18 million, and Mokaev quote-tweeted it with a complaint of his own: “Got paid for the grappling match by HypeFC half f of what Merab”. The post doesn’t spell out the exact numbers or which Merab paycheck he’s measuring against. Still, a former UFC flyweight publicly comparing grappling money to UFC money is the kind of pay talk promotions hate seeing in the replies, and it’ll make the next contract negotiation awkward for somebody.

Shinya Aoki

The Japanese MMA legend shared a link on X headlined “急転直下!!! 「那須川天心 プロレスダイナマイト参戦!?」 は見事中止に” which roughly translates to a sudden twist where Tenshin Nasukawa’s rumored Pro Wrestling Dynamite appearance got called off. Aoki’s own tagline basically shrugs, saying in Japanese that, well, that figures. A boxer’s pro wrestling cameo collapsing before it starts is the most predictable plot twist in combat sports, and Aoki clearly saw it coming.

Makoto Shinryu

The RIZIN flyweight champion had a visitor at practice. RIZIN’s Kana posted that she dropped in on a session with Shinryu and Jose Torres, praised how jacked both guys were, and said she’s looking forward to his title defense at RIZIN 55 in Chiba. Shinryu quote-tweeted it with “みんなでダンス🕺 ありがとうございました😂”, meaning everybody danced together and thanks for coming. A champion breaking into a group dance during camp is either supreme confidence or a guy who needed a break from sparring, and honestly both are fine.

Sergei Pavlovich

The Russian heavyweight posted a training clip with a two-line caption: “Every combo gets faster. The goal gets closer.👊🏻” Pavlovich keeps his posts short, the same way he likes his fights. If those combinations really are getting faster, the rest of the heavyweight division should be paying closer attention to his gym footage than to anybody’s press conference.
