Alexander Volkanovski stopped Movsar Evloev at 4:54 of Round 2 in the featherweight main event of UFC 333, with six seconds left before the horn.
Six seconds. Evloev was close to reaching his corner and resetting for Round 3, and instead the timeline went sideways within a minute of the finish.
The GOAT Chorus
Championship Rounds had the post that drew the biggest response. “ALEXANDER VOLKANOVSKI JUST FINISHED MOVSAR EVLOEV IN THE SECOND ROUND 🤯” the account wrote on X, then followed it with “AND STILL!!!!!” The post pulled 5,779 engagements, the most of anything in the post-fight wave.

Spinnin Backfist posted several times in a few minutes, which tells you how the account was feeling. One post read “THE DAM GOAT” with Volkanovski’s name underneath. Another read “VOLKANOVSKI YOU DAM GOAT.” A third, “ALEX VOLKANOVSKI GETS THE FINISH,” ended with an “AND STILLLLLLL” that had at least five more L’s than it needed. Those posts combined for more than 8,900 engagements, and one more that was nothing but his surname in capital letters added close to 3,000.
Dovy (@DovySimuMMA) went with the same three-letter acronym in caps to close out his finish post, followed by enough exclamation emoji to tell you he was out of his chair.

Dana White kept it short. The UFC president posted a hashtag and a tag on X: “#AndStill @alexvolkanovski #UFC333” was the whole thing. He’s the man paying the bills, so that hashtag from his account carries more weight than it does from a fan page.
The Joke
The best line of the night came from Spinnin Backfist again, and it read like this: “Dad who is Alexander Volkanovski? Was he any good?”
View post on X
It drew 3,615 engagements. The bit works because anyone who watched Saturday already knows the answer, and it imagines a future where some kid needs the highlight reel explained. Volkanovski’s own words afterward suggest that future isn’t here yet.
Criticism and Callouts
None came up. None of the posts reviewed for this piece questioned the stoppage or the timing, and nobody took a shot at Volkanovski’s performance. No featherweight posted a callout either. Nothing from Evloev appeared in the reactions, so his side of the night is still unknown.
Volkanovski still found time to cheer for someone else. Earlier on the card, Dovy posted a clip of him reacting to Colby Thicknesse’s win at UFC 333. That post reached 4,481 engagements, which is a big number for a prelim moment.

What’s Next
The challenger lineup is empty for now, but the retirement question got a direct answer. Championship Rounds posted Volkanovski’s post-fight comments, and he made it clear he’s in control of the decision:
“I’m choosing to do [fight], I don’t have to. I said if I didn’t take too much damage, we will probably keep going. So maybe we keep going.”

That sounds like a man who left the cage with very little damage. Nobody has named an opponent or a date yet. Volkanovski hedged with a maybe, and his tone suggested he was leaning toward yes.
