Sean Strickland Prays for an Oilers Brawl While Moicano Tries to Book a Grudge Fight

Renato Moicano circled December 5 for a scrap between two Brazilian personalities after one of them begged him to make it happen.

Sean Strickland

Strickland appears to be in Edmonton, and he wants blood on the ice. “There is a chance I go see a oilers game in Edmonton tonight.....” he wrote on X (@SStricklandMMA), then added, “Are they known for scrapping?! Please hockey gods give us a boxing match tonight 🙏” The post pulled 1,885 engagements, the biggest number of anyone today by a wide margin. A professional fighter buying a ticket and praying that somebody else throws hands for free is the most Strickland thing possible, and if a pair of gloves hits the ice tonight, he’ll be the loudest guy in the building.

Renato Moicano

Moicano is moonlighting as a matchmaker. Quoting a post from @cassiusogro, he wrote on X (@moicanoufc): “Cara vamos fazer isso acontecer…. @cassiusogro vs @guipaoficial ! Chega de debate, ja passamos do ponto em que dava pra dialogar, o prejuízo agora é outro e a divergência vai ser resolvida na porrada! Dia 05 de dezembro @MoneyMoicanoMMA vossas sapiencias topam essa luta?” In plain English, he said the time for talking is over, the disagreement gets settled with fists, and he floated December 5 as the date while tagging @MoneyMoicanoMMA and asking, with a very formal wink, whether the two men are in.

The pitch came from @cassiusogro himself, who said he wants to fight @guipaoficial and insisted it wouldn’t be a “humorista x Influenciador” sideshow. He billed it as good versus evil, the traditional Brazilian family against swingers, and closed with a direct plea: “Faça acontecer RENATO MOICANO! O Brasil precisa de uma vitória esportiva do homem de bem.” Nobody has said yes on the other side yet, but Moicano naming a date within hours of being asked tells you he’s taking the promoter gig seriously, or at least seriously enough to troll.

Itsuki Hirata

Hirata kept it to four kanji pairs and a couple of emoji. “🇯🇵❤️‍🔥気合根性忍耐” she posted on X (@itsuki_h), tagging @ONEChampionship and @ONECHAMPJP. The phrase roughly stacks fighting spirit, guts and endurance into one line, a mantra more than a status update. The post itself doesn’t spell out any booking, so read it as a mood check from a fighter who clearly wants the ONE accounts paying attention.

Masanori Kanehara

Kanehara found out the hard way that rolling with younger guys has a price. “大世と未来とグラップリングやったら疲労感が、、現役の選手とは3本くらいがよい!!” he wrote on X (@kinchantv), saying grappling with Taisei and Mirai left him wiped out and that about three rounds with active competitors is the right dose. That’s the most honest training post of the week. Everyone in a gym has sat against the wall after round four thinking the exact same thing, and very few admit it in public.

Matt Brown

The Immortal picked a side in the Metallica wars. Responding to @SClassYvan, who called the band the most basic form of heavy metal and pointed people toward Megadeth, Anthrax, Exodus, Sodom and Testament instead, Brown wrote on X (@IamTheImmortal): “Let’s be clear. 80’s Metallica was the greatest metal band of all time. Period.” He also admitted he didn’t know what set everyone off, saying he had no idea what James said to anger people, and left himself an escape hatch: “You can question the rest of their work but you can’t argue the first 4 records are goated”. Defending the band while quietly conceding everything after the fourth album is a veteran move, the musical version of taking a round off to win the fight.

Gaston Reyno

Reyno dropped a one-liner for the style debates. “El Sambo es la mejor base para las MMA” he posted on X (@gastonreyno), declaring sambo the best foundation for mixed martial arts. No caveats, no hedging, just a flag planted. Wrestling and jiu-jitsu loyalists will have opinions, and Reyno looks like he’d happily argue every one of them on the mat.
