Prajanchai and Aliff Will Settle Who Really Owns ONE's Strawweight Muay Thai Throne

ONE Championship has booked the two title holders to unify the belt in the main event of The Inner Circle 43 on Friday, December 18.

Two championship belts resting side by side on a ring canvas under arena lights

ONE Championship made the booking official on Sunday, Oct. 18, with a post that wasted no time on subtlety. “TWO KINGS. ONE UNDISPUTED CROWN,” the promotion wrote on X, adding that “Prajanchai and Aliff collide to unify the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title at The Inner Circle 43 on December 18.”

The fight headlines the card on Friday, Dec. 18, at 6:30 p.m. ICT. For anyone watching in the eastern United States, that’s 6:30 a.m. ET, so plan on coffee rather than beer. The event streams exclusively on The Inner Circle, ONE’s subscription service, which the promotion listed at $9.99 a month. Its post also pushed a code, WELCOME10, for 10% off the first month.

Two belts, one division

A unification bout only happens when a division has more than one man walking around with a claim to the top spot, and ONE’s announcement frames Prajanchai and Aliff as exactly that, two kings sharing a single weight class. The promotion’s post didn’t spell out records, how each fighter came to hold his piece of the strawweight Muay Thai title, or their most recent results, and I’m not going to fill those gaps with guesswork. What the post does make clear is the stakes. After Dec. 18, one of these two will be the undisputed champion, and the other will be looking up at him.

That clarity matters for everyone else at strawweight. Split titles leave contenders in an awkward holding pattern, unsure which belt to chase and which champion will actually defend. One name at the top gives the rest of the division a single target and a cleaner line of succession.

It’s also notable where ONE chose to put this fight. Rather than saving a unification bout for a broadcast event, the promotion is using it as the centerpiece of an Inner Circle card. For a subscription product that needs a reason for fans to sign up, a title fight with no loose ends attached is about as strong a hook as ONE can offer.

The promotion closed its post by asking fans who would come out on top. We get the answer on the morning of Dec. 18, when one of the two kings leaves the ring without his crown.
