Movsar Evloev, 20-0, Tells Volkanovski He Has Never Faced Anyone Like Him

The unbeaten Russian fires back three days before UFC 333, where a prediction market has his title shot against the champ dead even at 50-50.

Movsar Evloev arrives at the biggest fight of his career believing the champion has no reference point for him. The undefeated featherweight claims Alexander Volkanovski has never faced anyone like him, according to a report from MMA Sucka published Wednesday, three days before the two meet in the main event of UFC 333 on Oct. 24, 2026.

It’s a bold thing to say to a man with Volkanovski’s résumé. The Australian is the current and two-time UFC featherweight champion, sits at 28-4, and was ranked No. 2 in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound list as of June 16, 2026. He’s tied with Jose Aldo for the most featherweight title wins in UFC history, and he became the oldest fighter to win the 145-pound belt at 36 before becoming the oldest to defend it at 37. He last fought on Jan. 31.

Evloev’s case rests on the record. He’s 20-0, ranked No. 2 at featherweight, and trains out of American Top Team. Before MMA he earned Master of Sports in Greco-Roman wrestling, and he’s the cousin of Olympic gold medalist Musa Evloev. His UFC run includes wins over Seung Woo Choi, Enrique Barzola, Mike Grundy, Nik Lentz, Hakeem Dawodu and Dan Ige. The Lentz fight went to a split decision even though 26 of 26 media outlets scored it for Evloev, which tells you plenty about how that night’s judging aged. His most recent outing came on March 21, 2026.

The matchup has a wrestling subplot that rarely gets mentioned. Volkanovski started in Greco-Roman as a kid and won a national title twice at age 12, then built a pro game known for counter striking and offensive wrestling. So when Evloev says the champ hasn’t seen anything like him, the claim lands squarely on the grappling exchanges, where both men have real pedigree.

Not everyone is sold on Evloev as a draw. Former featherweight king Aldo said in a clip posted by MMA Fighting on X that if he ran the UFC, “I’d wait for him to lose for the first time and then cut him because he’s a guy who doesn’t sell, a guy who puts on boring fights, a guy who doesn’t draw attention.” Six straight UFC decisions to open his run will feed that argument, though anyone who has watched him chain takedowns knows the fights look different when you can actually read the grappling.

The market can’t separate them. Championship Rounds noted on X that Polymarket had the bout at 50-50 as of Tuesday. Volkanovski, for his part, already has his post-fight schedule partly booked: Spinnin Backfist reported he’s heading to Dagestan soon to film an episode of Cooking With Volk with Islam Makhachev.

I think Evloev’s pace makes the early rounds his, and Volkanovski’s adjustments between rounds decide whether that holds for 25 minutes. Saturday answers it.
