Mike Malott Retired Gilbert Burns. Now Joaquin Buckley's 15 KOs Stand in His Way

Malott headlines UFC Edmonton at Rogers Place on October 17, with Jasmine Jasudavicius facing Erin Blanchfield in a women's flyweight fight one week after Natalia Silva was crowned champion.

Mike Malott gets five rounds and the top spot at Rogers Place on Saturday, October 17, when he takes on Joaquin Buckley in the UFC Edmonton main event. Fight week coverage is rolling. Bloody Elbow published its full preview with start times and broadcast details, and BJPenn.com posted on X that Jasmine Jasudavicius and lightweight Kyle Nelson were the guests on Episode 232 of Just Scrap Radio with host Cole Shelton.

Malott’s stakes are easy to read. Earlier this year he retired Gilbert Burns in front of a Canadian crowd, which Bloody Elbow called the biggest win of his career so far. Buckley is a different kind of problem. UFC Canada has spent the week posting his finishes, including one clip captioned “The KO heard around the globe!” and another tallying the 15 knockouts on his record. The same account is also selling Malott as the home hope, with a promo inviting fans to watch him rise and rep the North.

Jasudavicius gets Erin Blanchfield in what Bloody Elbow described as a significant women’s flyweight fight, and the timing adds weight to it. It lands exactly one week after Natalia Silva was crowned champion. This is the UFC’s fourth trip to Edmonton, and the lineup leans heavily Canadian from top to bottom.

Start times and how to watch

The prelims start at 5 p.m. ET (2 p.m. Pacific, 10 p.m. GMT). The main card follows at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. Pacific, 1 a.m. GMT). Bloody Elbow pointed out that the slightly earlier start has been standard for every UFC event in 2026.

This is a Fight Night card, so there’s no pay-per-view charge. US viewers can watch on Paramount+. In Canada, UFC Canada lists Sportsnet and TVA Sports for the 8 p.m. ET main card. UK fans need TNT Sports, which is now available through HBO Max. In Japan, the UFC’s Japanese account lists the card for Sunday, October 18, with prelims at 6 and the main card at 9 local time on U-NEXT and UFC Fight Pass.

The UFC’s own promotion tells you what to watch for. Its Buckley content is all knockouts and nothing else, and that’s a fair warning for Malott. He already has the Burns win, but if he gives Buckley one clean look early, Rogers Place goes silent in a hurry. Two heavyweight fights on the prelims also make the 5 p.m. ET start worth catching live. Boser vs. Diniz opens the main card’s lead-in, and heavyweights don’t usually leave a lot of time on the clock.
