Michael Bisping thinks the UFC got the UFC 334 poster right, and he isn’t budging for Alex Pereira.
The Hall of Famer defended the promotion’s decision to put Gane vs. Hokit in the main event slot above Harrison vs. Nunes, MiddleEasy reported, after Pereira criticized the order. The report didn’t spell out Pereira’s exact complaint, so I won’t either. Bisping sided with the matchmakers, threw his support behind Tom Aspinall and gave his read on Pereira’s upcoming heavyweight fight with Sergei Pavlovich.
Bisping knows a thing or two about top billing. At UFC 78 he became the first British fighter to headline a UFC card. Years later he knocked out Luke Rockhold at UFC 199 to become the first Brit to win UFC gold, defended the belt against Dan Henderson at UFC 204 and went into the Hall of Fame in July 2019. When he weighs in on bout order, he’s doing it as a guy who has headlined.

Pereira has earned the right to an opinion on billing too. He’s a former UFC middleweight champion and a two-time light heavyweight champ, and he’s now campaigning at heavyweight, where he sits No. 6 in the Knockout Daily rankings at 13-4. He last fought June 14 and trains out of Teixeira MMA & Fitness.
His next assignment is a tough one. Pereira meets Pavlovich at UFC 335 on Dec. 12, a card headlined by Oliveira vs. Lopes. Pavlovich carries an 84-inch reach, which Dovy noted on X gives him a five-inch edge over Pereira. Pereira built a career on being the longer striker in the cage, so that’s unfamiliar math for him.

The week around the Pereira family had other bad news, too. His sister, Aline Pereira, lost a decision to Smilla Sundell on the Contender Series, with all three judges scoring it 29-28, Championship Rounds posted on X.
Pereira can argue about poster order all he wants. His own fight comes Dec. 12, and the man across from him can outreach him by five inches.
