Jon Jones opened a pizza shop in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and within hours he turned the turnout into a weapon. “Had 3000 customers show up to my pizza shop grand opening. So much for negative energy Colby,” Jones wrote on X, and he finished the post with a clown emoji aimed squarely at his longtime rival.
That could have been the end of it. A fan replied with a jab of his own: “Ur 40 years old holding grudges like a schoolgirl, give it up unc.” Jones fired back with “Trust me, bud, I’m not the one holding the garage.” Four minutes later he posted a one-word correction, swapping garage for grudge with an asterisk.
The rest of that reply is where he really went after Covington. Jones insisted he has no reason to hate on anybody and said God has been unimaginably good to him. Then he made it personal. “I just like reminding Colby that I’m not the man I used to be. And even at my weakest, I’ve always been better than him,” he wrote. “I’m everything he could never be, and I know it kills him inside.” He closed with: “I just want to give him a little more to hate. That’s all.”

This feud comes back every year. Spinnin Backfist noted on Wednesday that “the annual Jon Jones Vs Colby Covington beef just started again,” and by the weekend Jones was using a restaurant opening as material.
Jones also thanked a fan who congratulated him on the shop. He called the night a dream that “couldn’t have gone better” and praised the local crowd: “Baton Rouge community really has it going on.” Earlier in the week, Championship Rounds shared a clip of Jones struggling through a pizza eating challenge and calling for backup from an old enemy. “I’ve never wanted to see Daniel Cormier more than I want to see him right now. Tag in brother,” he said.

As for fighting, Jones sounds like a man who has put the gloves away. In an interview with TheSchmo, shared by Championship Rounds, he said his fight with Stipe Miocic was likely his last. “I really do believe that was my last moment inside the cage,” Jones said. He admitted one regret. “There was the White House card… one of the few nights in my career where I was thinking I should’ve been there. That was one of my big regrets in life.” He followed that with: “But if I never fight again, I think I’m pretty damn happy.”
The record backs up that contentment. A graphic posted by Gaston Reyno this week put Jones’s 28-1 next to Floyd Mayweather’s 50-0 and asked fans which was harder to build.

My take: a man who swears he has no reason to hate anybody doesn’t usually tag his rival in a post about his own restaurant opening. Jones isn’t fooling anyone, and I don’t think he’s trying to. He’s mostly retired and seems happy, and needling Colby has become a fun side project for him. The garage-for-grudge typo is the best part. A guy claiming total peace with Covington hit send so fast he couldn’t spell the word he was denying.
