UFC Fight Night in Edmonton goes off Saturday, October 17, with Joaquin Buckley and Mike Malott headlining a 13-fight card at welterweight. This page will carry results as they come in. The biggest story before anybody threw a punch came from Buckley, who has spent fight week acting like words cost him money.
At the final face-off Friday, Buckley ignored Dana White’s offered handshake. Clips from Championship Rounds and Happy Punch made the rounds on X, and the Happy Punch video shows White’s reaction to being left with his hand out. That’s not something you see often from a guy headlining a UFC card.
The silence went further. Championship Rounds posted that Buckley refused to answer any questions after the weigh-ins. The UFC’s own Paramount+ account shared an interview clip and noted that he did not say a single word during it. Nothing. A full media obligation and he didn’t give the room so much as a nod. The promotion’s social team went with the phrase “LOCKED IN,” which is a generous way to frame a man stonewalling a microphone.

The earlier face-off with Malott had its own sideshow. Dovy Simuskas posted video of the two squaring up while somebody in the background shouted profanities, which honestly gave the moment more noise than either fighter did.
How to watch and the card
UFC Brasil posted on X that the pre-show starts at 17h with fights beginning at 18h on Paramount+ in Brazil. UFC Canada posted its own start times for viewers up north and confirmed the 13-fight lineup, while UFC Europe called the card set and asked fans for picks. MMA Mania published full start time and fight card details Saturday morning.

Be careful out there with streams. Several “free live TV” links for Buckley vs. Malott were circulating Saturday under a university domain, and they have all the hallmarks of the spam pages that pop up before every card. Stick to the official broadcast.
Results
Results for all 13 bouts, main event included, will be posted here as each fight ends, with method, round and time.

Quick take
I love a villain, and refusing to shake the boss’s hand at a face-off is a real villain move. It tells you Buckley either has something to prove to the guy writing the checks or he’s so far inside his own head this week that he forgot White was standing there. Either reading makes me want to watch. The full vow of silence is riskier, though. Going mute all week works great if you walk into the cage and make it look like a premonition. It looks a lot sillier if Malott makes you talk your way through a post-fight interview after a loss. Buckley picked the high-stakes version of fight week, and the bill comes due Saturday night in Edmonton.
