Most Valuable Promotions, the boxing company Jake Paul runs with co-founder Nakisa Bidarian, has partnered with TikTok LIVE to stream championship boxing events. FightBook MMA reported the deal Thursday and called the events historic. That’s about all the public detail so far. The reporting I have doesn’t say which cards are covered, when the first one airs, whether viewers pay, or what the money looks like.
The timing is busy even by MVP standards. One day earlier, promotional officials confirmed to MMA Fighting that Anthony Pettis will box Neeraj Goyat on Jan. 23 in India. It’s a six-round super welterweight fight at 154 pounds, presented by IPBL Boxing and sanctioned by the Indian Boxing Council. The venue is still open. Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Chennai are in the running, and a decision is expected in November. Nobody has said whether that card ends up on TikTok, so I won’t pretend to know.
Pettis, the former UFC lightweight champion, is 1-1 as a boxer. He won a majority decision over Roy Jones Jr. at Gamebred Boxing 4 in April 2023. A little over a year later he dropped a decision to Chris Avila on the Diaz vs. Masvidal card, and he hasn’t fought since. There’s family business attached, too. His younger brother Sergio lost a unanimous decision to Sabari Jaishankar in India in March 2025.

“This one is for him, and I am coming to win,” Pettis said.
Goyat is the MVP fighter in this matchup. He has 27 pro fights and has won five straight, including a win over Whindersson Nunes on the Paul vs. Tyson undercard. He made it clear he’s tired of being the visiting guy. “This time the card is ours,” he said. Paul and Bidarian said in a joint statement that they signed Goyat to help put Indian boxing on the world stage, and MVP’s account on X pitched the Jan. 23 card as “bigger than one fight.”
There are more MMA names circling Paul’s corner of boxing. UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland, in the middle of a public fight with the UFC over pay, has floated the idea of a boxing match with Paul. MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn reported that Strickland signed a new six-fight deal before he beat Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 328, so that one stays a daydream for now. Ben Fowlkes wrote this week that some of Paul’s Netflix fights had that rare feeling of the world stopping to watch. Netflix also has Fury vs. Joshua coming. MVP’s newest distribution partner is a much different kind of platform.

My take is simple. I’ve been around long enough to know a press release with “historic” in it and no dates is like a betting tip from your brother-in-law, so I’ll wait for the fine print. What I care about is which fights actually land on the platform and whether they’re title fights people would bet on or filler that happens to have a belt on the table. The Pettis-Goyat line isn’t out yet. Pettis is the bigger name, but Goyat is the one who boxes for a living, comes in on five straight wins and gets the home crowd. When that number drops, I’m looking at the guy with 27 boxing fights before I look at the guy with three. Venue news is due in November, and the bell rings Jan. 23.
