Jake Paul is coming back, and he picked the one night of the year when your uncle is guaranteed to be awake and arguing about boxing. Most Valuable Promotions announced on X that Paul will return to the ring on Thursday, Dec. 24, in Dubai. It’s his first fight since the defeat that left him with a broken jaw.
“Jake Paul is BACK,” MVP posted, billing the night as “A Christmas Eve Spectacle” with popcorn and Christmas tree emojis attached, because subtlety has never been the brand. A follow-up post from the promotion opened with “DUBAI, WE’RE COMING FOR YOU.” and featured Paul alongside MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian talking up the event. The show is being put together with Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism and the Dubai Sports Council, so this has the full weight of a city government behind it.
Gulf Today and Zamin.uz both picked up the announcement, with Zamin.uz framing it as a big comeback after the broken jaw loss. MMA Fighting’s Morning Report also flagged the return on Oct. 30.

Who’s he fighting?
MVP hasn’t put an opponent’s name next to the date in any of its announcement posts. The closest thing to a hint came from Bidarian himself, who teased Darren Till as a possible next opponent for Paul, according to MMA Fighting. That’s a tease, not a signed contract, and Bidarian is a promoter whose job is to get people talking. Consider it a trial balloon until both sides post a face-off graphic.
Bidarian also sat down for a separate MVP clip covering Paul’s return and the recent news surrounding Amanda Serrano’s final fight. That’s two big storylines landing on the company’s plate at once.

The venue and the exact card haven’t been detailed beyond “Dubai, UAE” in the promotion’s posts. With roughly eight weeks between the announcement and fight night, expect the opponent reveal, the press tour and the inevitable social media food fight to arrive fast.
Quick take
I’ll give Paul this much: guys who get their jaw broken don’t always come back, and the ones who do usually ask for a soft landing. He’s coming back on a holiday-sized stage with a government tourism board footing part of the bill, which means the pressure is real and the excuses are gone. The opponent decides whether this is a real comeback or a Christmas ornament. Till’s name at least sounds like somebody who’ll fight back, and that’s the version I’d pay for. If the eventual pick turns out to be some hand-selected guy who’s never been in a real fight, Paul has basically turned into Kevin McCallister setting paint-can traps for the Wet Bandits. Cute for a holiday movie, not worth a pay-per-view. Name the opponent soon, MVP. Dec. 24 is coming whether the card is ready or not.
