Jake Paul
Jake Paul has a date, a city and a Santa bit, but no opponent. On X he announced he’s “returning to the ring in Dubai” on Thursday, December 24, tagged @MostVpromotions, and admitted the matchmaking is still open: “We’ve got plenty of names on the list; let’s see who signs the contract.” He closed with “Santa Paul is coming to town, and somebody’s getting knocked out,” which is a great line for a guy whose opponent currently has no name.
I respect the confidence. Booking a Christmas Eve fight abroad before anyone has signed is a very Jake Paul way to do business. Somewhere a manager is staring at that list and doing math on how much a holiday in Dubai is worth. The other line in the post that caught my eye was “Nothing that’s happened has changed my belief in myself or what I’m working toward.” That one reads like a guy who has been reading his own replies.
Marina Shafir
The AEW account posted that Marina Shafir, aka The Problem, called out AEW Women’s World Champion Moné on Dynamite, and the champ answered with a slap across the face. Shafir quote-tweeted the clip with “All roads lead to Moné @MercedesVarnado.” A callout that gets answered with an open hand is the opposite of a manufactured face-off that fizzles. Somebody actually got hit. The replay is on HBO Max if you want to watch the slap a few more times.

海人
The most honest post of the day came from 海人 (@0k8a2i1to), who checked in after some time away with a message that started “皆さん、ご無沙汰してます” and thanked fans who sent worried messages. The core of it was “何一つ諦めてないし、俺は絶対に世界最強になります.” He says he hasn’t given up on anything and that he will absolutely become the strongest in the world. He also owned the rough patch directly, writing “倒されて、負けてしてるけど” (he’s been knocked down and he’s lost), and said he didn’t become a fighter with the kind of resolve that quits over that.

He says he’s preparing for his next fight and asked fans to wait for him to show them a stronger version of himself, and a winning one. No date or opponent was given. Fighters who talk openly about getting dropped and then promise the comeback anyway are always my favorite ones to root for.

Georges St-Pierre
GSP had a crisis of culinary identity. In French on X he wrote “Vous ne rêvez pas : il y avait une poutine aux œufs pochés au menu du déjeuner,” meaning a poached egg poutine showed up on the lunch menu. His follow-up was “Le pire, c’est que j’ai adoré ça.” The worst part, he says, is that he loved it. The man has the discipline of a monk, and he still got taken down by fries, gravy and an egg. I’d call it his first legitimate loss in years.

KAITO
海飛 KAITO (@kit_tsd) posted a photo with the caption “お腹空きすぎて、おにぎりに見えた。よく見たら天弥だった。” He was so hungry that he thought he saw a rice ball, and when he looked closer, it was 天弥. He signed off by telling himself to hang on with a little more patience. I don’t know what he’s holding out for, but when your friends start looking like onigiri, you’re very close to the end of whatever this is.

Gary Goodridge
Big Daddy closed the day with philosophy, rewriting the Forrest Gump box of chocolates line on X. His version: “It’s like a a jar of jalapeños what you do today may burn your butt tomorrow..” It comes with a doubled-up article and a double period. It’s also completely correct, and somebody should print it on a gym towel.
