GSP Breaks a Three-Day Fast While Shrek Sekine Defends Wrestlers Driving Uber

NOEL warned the winning bidder that her signed RIZIN glove might smell, and she isn't taking returns.

Renato Moicano

Moicano wants to book the most Brazilian Twitter fight imaginable. He posted on X: “Pobre de direita vs rico de esquerda no MMMMMA. Quem aí se candidata ?!👇” He’s pitching a poor right-winger against a rich left-winger and asking who wants to sign up. He didn’t name names or give a date, so nobody should start building a fight card yet. As a concept, though, this is the most engaged-with post of the day, which tells you plenty about what people want to argue about on a weekday.

NOEL

The best line of the day came with a disclaimer. Fan account @yang4_bs posted the current rankings for the signed, fight-worn glove auction from RIZIN’s Nagasaki event (RIZIN LANDMARK 16). With four days left, Kate Lotus led by a mile at 180,500 yen, Keiyoshi Horie sat second at 60,000 yen, and NOEL was tied for third with Seiya Inoue at 50,000 yen. The account pointed out that NOEL lost her fight and still outbid most of the winners. NOEL quote-tweeted it with a warning: “※私のグローブは臭い可能性があります。” She says her glove might stink, then added “返品などは受け付けておりません🙇‍♀️”, meaning no returns. Total honesty and a strict no-refund policy. That’s how you run a merch table.

Gaston Reyno

Reyno, who goes by Tonga, shared a clip on X that’s basically a morality play in one exchange. He wrote: “Su entrenador le pidió que ataque (intentando sacar ventaja de que al oponente se le había caído el bucal)… y el Karma no demoró en llegar 😴” So the coach told his guy to jump on an opponent whose mouthpiece had fallen out, and karma showed up fast enough to put him to sleep. Reyno didn’t say who was in the video. He didn’t have to. The emoji did the reporting.

Makoto Shinryu

Shinryu tagged @ShortyTorresMMA on X with one word and three emojis: “フュージョン⚡️👑⚡️” That’s the Japanese word for fusion, and anybody who grew up on Toonami is already picturing two fighters doing the Dragon Ball finger touch. The post has no other context, so I’m not reading a matchup or a training camp into it. Two flyweight-sized guys forming one super fighter is still a fun thought.

Sekine Hideki

The veteran heavyweight they call Shrek went after people who apparently think it’s embarrassing that some pro wrestlers drive for Uber. He framed it as “プロレスラーがUberやっている問題” (the pro wrestlers doing Uber problem), then shut it down: “いやいや、真面目に働いているのは素晴らしいことでしょ。” Basically, come on, working honestly is a great thing. He said there are people out there scamming supporters and fans to live comfortably, and that wrestlers who don’t cash in their name for shady stuff deserve praise. His fix for anyone who still has a problem with it was simple: buy that wrestler’s tickets and merch. Shrek looks like he could fold a car in half, and here he’s sticking up for the guy working a second job. Good look.

Shinya Aoki

Aoki’s channel has a no-clipping rule, and an account called @ren___k1 reminded people not to repost his videos. Aoki quote-tweeted with a follow-up aimed at whoever got caught: “無断切り抜きしておいて謝る以外ないと思うのだが。” His point was that if you clipped him without permission, your only move is an apology. He said he was shocked that the account never apologized and instead pointed out that other people do it too. Aoki has been a villain for most of his career, but on this one he’s in the right. Pointing at everybody else never worked on your mom either.

Georges St-Pierre

GSP went three days without eating and came out of it sounding very calm. He posted on X: “You can’t beat doing it yourself, especially when you’re breaking a three-day fast! 😋” He attached a photo and plugged doing it yourself, and the emoji says he enjoyed the result. Most fighters complain for a week after a 10-pound water cut. St-Pierre skipped food for 72 hours voluntarily and posted about it like it was a lazy Sunday. He’s retired and somehow still more disciplined than half the active roster.
