Dana White Breaks Silence on UFC 333's Location After Middle East Unrest

Bloody Elbow flagged White's update on Friday, capping a week in which the UFC boss also swatted at Sean Strickland and teased a loaded start to 2027.

Dana White has addressed where things stand for UFC 333. On Friday, October 16, Bloody Elbow posted to X: “Dana White provides location update on UFC 333 following recent events in the Middle East.”

That line is all the post’s text gives us. It links out to a fuller story and a clip, but it doesn’t name a venue, confirm a city or say whether anything has moved. Until White’s exact words are on the record, nobody should treat any version of UFC 333 as relocated, canceled or locked in. The link to the Middle East comes from the post’s own framing. The specifics of the update haven’t been published in the material available here.

When White talks logistics, the plans usually follow. He has run the UFC since 2001, when Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta bought the promotion for $2 million and made him president. He became CEO in 2023 after the ownership reshuffle into TKO Group Holdings. He also runs Power Slap and co-founded Zuffa Boxing in 2025, so his calendar is crowded. Venue calls for numbered pay-per-views still run through him.

It’s been a talkative week for him. On Wednesday, Championship Rounds posted his response to Sean Strickland’s public pay complaint: “When isn’t Sean Strickland upset about something? Sean Strickland just signed a new contract in May.” White added that, from what he’d heard, the figure Strickland was circulating wasn’t accurate.

Later that day, he was asked whether Michael Morales vs. Shavkat Rakhmonov is being put together. He didn’t confirm or deny it. “Could be. We actually have a lot of cool stuff going on right now. We got a lot of good announcements coming. We’re going to have a good January/February,” he said, per Championship Rounds. A separate clip of his reaction to a reported $20 million offer to fight Eddie Hearn also made the rounds.

The fighters on this card are the ones who need answers most. A camp built around a long-haul flight and a specific time zone looks very different from one aimed at a domestic arena, and every week without clarity eats into planning. The next concrete step is an official UFC announcement confirming the UFC 333 venue. With White promising a run of announcements heading into January and February, that confirmation could come soon.
