Chuck Liddell Wants Arman Tsarukyan Punished After RAF 14 Brawl Turns Bloody

The UFC Hall of Famer is calling for discipline after a press conference melee with Dillon Danis and Khamzat Chimaev left a security guard bleeding.

Chuck Liddell wants somebody to put Arman Tsarukyan in timeout. Bloody Elbow reported on X on Saturday that the UFC Hall of Famer wants the lightweight contender punished after Tsarukyan sparked another brawl in RAF, the wrestling promotion that just hosted his match with Dillon Danis. The account linked to Liddell’s comments, though the full wording of his post wasn’t included in its write-up.

The scene in question went down Thursday, Oct. 22, at the RAF 14 press conference. Championship Rounds posted footage of Danis and Tsarukyan going at it, and Red Corner MMA reported the pile grew to include Khamzat Chimaev and multiple members of both teams. Ariel Helwani wrote on X that one security guard was bleeding, adding: “Total chaos.” He followed that with “Ugly scene.”

The match itself didn’t go much better for Danis. Tsarukyan beat him 10-0 at RAF 14, according to Championship Rounds, which also posted video of Tsarukyan stepping on Danis after the win. That’s a shutout, for the non-wrestling crowd, and a fairly expensive afternoon for anyone who took a flier on Danis after Happy Punch reported he went through hell cutting weight for the bout. I’ve made worse bets. Not many.

Why Liddell’s voice carries

Liddell held the UFC light heavyweight title from 2005 to 2007, retired with a 21-9 MMA record (16-7 in the UFC) and went into the UFC Hall of Fame on July 10, 2009. He also wrestled at Cal Poly from 1988 to 1993, so he has some standing on what should and shouldn’t happen around a mat.

Tsarukyan is the bigger story on the fight side. He sits at No. 2 in the Knockout Daily lightweight rankings at 24-3, trains out of American Top Team and last fought in the cage on Sept. 19. Wikipedia lists him at No. 13 in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings as of Sept. 22. A contender that close to a title shot doesn’t usually moonlight in wrestling matches with Danis, and he definitely doesn’t usually end up in the same headline as a bleeding security guard.

What comes next

None of the sources show any sanction announced by RAF or anyone else, and none spell out which body, if any, would have the authority to discipline Tsarukyan for a promotional event brawl. Liddell’s push is a call for action. No ruling has come out of it.

The practical stakes are simple. Tsarukyan’s value to the UFC is as a lightweight title threat, and every viral scuffle gives matchmakers one more thing to weigh. If RAF or the UFC responds, that’s the next line to watch.
