Alex Pereira posted a progress report from camp this week, five weeks out from his fight with Sergei Pavlovich, and the fight accounts carried it from there.
The images came from Pereira’s own account (@AlexPereiraUFC). Championship Rounds and MMA UNCENSORED both reshared them Nov. 6, each describing the post as a look at his current physique with five weeks to go before the Pavlovich bout. MMA Mania put it in its Midnight Mania roundup Saturday and asked the obvious question in the headline: is Pereira in the best shape of his career heading into UFC 335?
That’s the full story. There’s a photo, a countdown and a question.

Nobody in the reporting quotes Pereira, his coaches or the UFC about his weight, his conditioning or how camp is going. Past the fact that he looks big and lean in the pictures, everything is guesswork, and I’ll leave the guessing to the replies.
A quick card cleanup
The two reposts don’t agree on the event. MMA Mania lists Pereira vs. Pavlovich as the co-headliner of UFC 335. MMA UNCENSORED tagged its post #UFC334.
Go with MMA Mania. The same roundup puts UFC 334 next weekend in New York City, where Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson is set to officially retire. A fight that’s five weeks away can’t happen next weekend.
What we actually have
The sources don’t give records, recent results, a weight class or betting lines for this matchup, and I’m not filling those blanks with vibes. Here’s what they do establish. The opponent is Pavlovich, the slot is co-main event and the clock reads five weeks. Pereira also chose to show his own body to the internet, which tells you he likes what he sees in the mirror. Fighters who feel soft in camp tend to keep their shirts on.
In the same Midnight Mania roundup, Alistair Overeem checked in with a Week 1 post, Volkov announced he’s cornering Johnny Walker, and Andre Fili showed off a shaved head. Pereira’s post drew the most attention of the bunch.
Quick take
A physique photo five weeks out is close to the weakest evidence you can get in this sport. Gym lighting is kind and phone cameras are kinder, and abs have never absorbed a right hand for anybody. Still, I’ll take a fighter posting his own body over a cryptic emoji any day of fight season. The scale gets the next look at weigh-ins, and Pavlovich gets the final say in the cage at UFC 335.
