Alex Pereira’s coach picked a fight with Chase DeMoor, and the scariest man in the UFC was the one laughing.
“Plinio Cruz just GRILLED Chase DeMoor and Alex Pereira was loving it 😂,” Happy Punch wrote on X on Saturday, posting video of the exchange. The account also quoted what Cruz said to DeMoor: “You’re a pssy. Nothing but an insecure little bitch. I’m gonna whoop your fcking ass.”
That isn’t a polite request to spar. The posts don’t say what started it or whether DeMoor said anything back. Pereira’s part was simple. He stood there and enjoyed the show.

Cruz had already done his talking with his hands that day. Championship Rounds reported on X that he earned a Round 2 TKO in his Misfits Boxing debut, and Spinnin Backfist credited him with a knockout win on the card, citing Misfits Boxing. Those posts went up minutes before the DeMoor clip. A coach who just stopped somebody in his first pro outing gets to talk a little louder. That’s the rule.
Pereira has been the target of trash talk from the online crowd all week. Championship Rounds posted a clip of a Kick streamer (via maciejmp) telling him, “Alex, me and you let’s have a UFC fight bro. Don’t be a b*tch boy, sign the contract.” A separate Happy Punch clip of a streamer getting checked after calling Pereira a name got this reply from Tim Welch on X: “a severe ass whooping is so good for people.” Gentlemen, this is a two-division UFC champion. Maybe pick on somebody with fewer belts.

Pereira has real business coming up. He’s No. 6 at heavyweight in the Knockout Daily rankings, sits at 13-4 and trains out of Teixeira MMA & Fitness. He has held the UFC middleweight title once and the light heavyweight title twice, and he’s ninth in UFC history to win belts in two divisions. He last fought June 14. He also had time this week to grumble about the UFC 334 lineup, asking on camera, “Why the Women’s Fight is not the Main Event? Okay let me help promote this cause no one is paying attention to it.”
Nothing in the sources says Cruz vs. DeMoor is booked or even discussed, so treat any matchup talk as wishful thinking for now. I’d still watch it. A 1-0 coach with a fresh TKO and a former champ ringside cackling is the exact crossover nonsense I want on my screen.

Pereira’s own next fight is set. He meets Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 335 on December 12.
