Alex Pereira, the most frightening man in combat sports, posted a comedy skit on Friday that features him in bed with three UFC belts. Not everyone was laughing.
The RedCorner MMA account described it as Pereira “showing off his UFC belts from the comfort of his bed,” and Dovy on X confirmed the bit involved three straps. Jed Meshew quoted it on X with a blunt review: “Dude, what happened to Poatan. Why did he get cringe?”
That’s a fair question about a guy whose persona has mostly been built on a stare and a left hook. It’s also a funny thing to aim at someone with this résumé. Pereira is the ninth fighter in UFC history to win titles in two divisions and the first to do it at middleweight and light heavyweight. He has held the light heavyweight belt twice. Before MMA, he held Glory kickboxing titles at middleweight and light heavyweight at the same time, which nobody else has done. Three belts in bed tracks with one middleweight reign and two at 205. Count it yourself.

What he hasn’t won is a heavyweight title, and that’s where the bedroom bit gets interesting. Pereira now competes at heavyweight. He sits No. 6 in the Knockout Daily heavyweight rankings with a 13-4 record out of Teixeira MMA & Fitness, and his last fight came on June 14, 2026. The Meta rankings, as of Sept. 19, had him No. 4 at heavyweight and still No. 3 at light heavyweight, plus No. 10 on the UFC pound-for-pound list as of Sept. 22.
Nobody in the sources says Pereira is calling his shot for a third division. The skit doesn’t need him to. A guy posing with three belts while ranked in a fourth division is an invitation, and fans took it.

It’s been a busy week online around the Pereira camp. On Tuesday, Championship Rounds posted video of a man holding pads for him and getting launched. On Wednesday, his sister Aline Pereira lost a unanimous decision to Smilla Sundell on Dana White’s Contender Series, 29-28 on all three cards.
The real work is next. Pereira meets Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 335 (Oliveira vs. Lopes) on Dec. 12, and Pavlovich will carry an 84-inch reach, a five-inch edge, according to Dovy. If Pereira wants a fourth belt in that bed, he has to get through the longest arms he’s seen in a while first.
